How Vietnam Has Become a New Global Hub for Cabinet Procurement

Oct 15, 2025

Amid the wave of global home supply chain restructuring, Vietnam, leveraging multiple core advantages such as cost competitiveness, trade policies, and industrial clusters, has rapidly emerged as a crucial new hub for global cabinet procurement. It has attracted the attention of buyers from around the world, bringing profound changes to the landscape of the global home supply chain.

The regional division of labor in Vietnam's cabinet industry has become remarkably distinct, with the formation of three industrial clusters each boasting unique features, which accurately cater to diverse market demands. The cluster in Ho Chi Minh City in the south, relying on a mature wood processing industry chain and convenient port logistics, focuses on the production of solid wood indoor cabinets. Its products, characterized by exquisite craftsmanship and diverse design styles, are highly favored in the mid-to-high-end market. They not only hold a significant share in the local Southeast Asian market but are also exported in large quantities to regions such as the United States and Europe.

The central region specializes in outdoor waterproof cabinets. By virtue of skilled technicians, it realizes personalized customization, with exports accounting for 35% of its total output. The northern region focuses on metal-framed cabinets, equipped with over 200 supporting hardware processing factories, and its response speed is 30% faster than that of other Southeast Asian countries. This clear regional division of labor enables Vietnam's cabinet industry to concentrate resources on developing advantageous product categories, enhance production efficiency and product quality, and form a strong industrial synergy.

The outstanding achievements of Vietnam's cabinet industry can be attributed not only to the clear regional division of labor but also to two core competencies. On one hand, it enjoys a labor cost advantage. On the other hand, Vietnam has abundant forest resources, with a forest area of 14.8 million hectares, providing sufficient raw material guarantees for cabinet production. Furthermore, the Vietnamese government implements strict sustainable management policies on the development and utilization of forest resources to ensure the rational harvesting and regeneration of wood resources, promoting the development of the cabinet industry in a green and sustainable direction. This also aligns with the global consumer demand trend for environmentally friendly home products.

As the global furniture market's demand for cost-effective, high-quality, and environmentally friendly cabinet products continues to grow, Vietnam, by virtue of its own advantages, has become a new global hub for cabinet procurement. Its export data in the past is quite impressive, and it is expected to occupy a more important position in the global cabinet market in the future, continuously driving the development of Vietnam's foreign trade economy.
